First First Birthday Party

Lia has been doing her tour of birthday celebrations in the past two weeks. Last July 29, she went to Johann's birthday party in McDonald's (Johann is the son of my high school classmate Antonette). This was her first first birthday party. She didn't like it very much in the beginning. The loud music and amplified voice of the host bothered her. I had to nurse her in the car for her to calm down. But later on, she behaved a bit better, posing for pictures with Grimace and the other kids.

Later that day, we went to Powerplant with Lola Vinchu, Lolo Dan, Tita Ia and Tito Norman to shop for a birthday gift for Lola Vinchu. This she enjoyed much more. Especially because her lolo and lola can't resist picking her up from her stroller and carrying her from store to store. The stroller therefore carried all our bags and purchases. It all worked well and Lia had a good time.

The following day she helped Lola Vinchu with her birthday cake. She got scared when everyone sang happy birthday at the same time. But she has to get used to this especially since she'll have to do it herself when she turns one.

Then last Saturday, she went to Tita Menchi's condo in Macapagal Ave. to celebrate Ninong Norman and Tito Carlo's birthday. Tita Menchi lay a big comforter on the floor for her to crawl on and she showed them her strong arms and knees by going up on all fours. But in the end, it was her Titos who fell asleep on the comforter and Lia fell asleep on Yaya Jenny.

This baby's social calendar is certainly filling up with all sorts of celebrations. She's turning out to be such a party girl. We can't wait for the next one.
